Exactly one week ago I was in NYC for Getting Gorgeous and Conversations with Coca-Cola, one event was right after the other so I had to dress for both.
I’ve been to Getting Gorgeous for several year sin a row and knew what to expect. The hosts are Vera Sweeny from Lady and the Blog and Audrey McClelland from Mom Generations. Both are beautiful and trendy and OBVIOUSLY I need to look good if I’m going to an event with the word “gorgeous” in the name. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Conversations with Coca-Cola but I knew I was meeting with Coca-Cola female executives so I wanted to look professional.
So it had to be trendy yet professional. It was a struggle considering I am probably the LEAST trendy person in the world. I knew I needed cute heels and I’ve been dying for a nude pair so that was my first purchase. I love love LOVE shoes so I will typically buy shoes and then build my outfit around them…this time was no exception. I got a cute pair of Nine West nude heels from Marshals for only $39. I love them so much and am still buying outfits to go with them.
Since the hard part was out of the way, I headed over to Talbot’s because I love the way their pants fit me and they always have awesome sales. I already had an orange Michael Kors bag that I bought for only $100 from thredUP (I have 40% off promo codes if you want one leave a comment here) so I got a pair of Navy pants and a white button down shirt there. I love navy and orange together (although I will admit, I called my best friend for her to approve my orange and navy combo). THANKFULLY I have a best friend who have worked in the fashion industry in NYC for 12 years that I can call on any time.
I grabbed a navy tank top from The Limited which I loved because the material was amazingly soft (although it did ride up A LOT while I was in NYC). That was a huge pain when you have a 16 hour day of work.
Last but not least I paired it with jewelry I got in Aruba which I’ve been dying for an excuse to wear.
I wish I had a better quality picture of the final result but this is the best I have and you get the idea.
