I was excited to review Creative Galaxy which is a series for preschoolers that will take your child on an interactive adventure as Arty and Epiphany travel around the galaxy using art, music, and dance to solve problems. You can recreate their crafts with your child via a step-by-step guide in each and every episode. Produced by Out of the Blue Enterprises with Angela Santomero (Blue’s Clues, Super Why!) serving as Creator and Executive Producer.
As a former preschool teacher, I very rarely allowed my son or students to watch any kind of television unless it held some kind of educational value. This is definitely a show that I would have welcomed in both my home and classroom. One thing I like about it that it isn’t one of those shows that flash tons of images at the viewer with overly loud noises. I feel that kind of stimulation is bad for a child’s brain. This show is interactive and moves at a pace that mimics the way humans actually interact.
The stories themselves are adorable as are the characters but my favorite part is the hands on art-time featuring a craft that was relevant to the episode the child just watched. A parent, teacher, or any other caregiver could benefit from watching and then completing the craft at the end of the show.
I watched Creative Galaxy with my best friend’s children and they were glued to the show and then begged to do the art project after. It was so much fun and I didn’t have to take the time to plan our activities, it was just laid out for me!
This series is PERFECT for times when your child is bored or acting up and you’re at a loss as how to keep them busy such as rainy/snow days or just days when you’re struggling as a parent. After you watch an episode and do the craft, your children will have been entertained and you’ll feel like a good mama for completing a craft with them. It can turn a tough day into a great one!
